Ariel Helwani is among the better journalists covering the MMA world. He is known for his unique questions and good interviewing skills. He is famous for his strained relationship with UFC President Dana White, and it appears it will not be better anytime soon. Dana White recently thanked the media for promoting Power Slap and making it successful. Ariel Helwani did not think so and fired back at White.
Helwani said, “I follow the UFC. I don’t follow this nonsense…He did the classic ‘Thank you to the media for making this such a success.’ I mean, if keeping a fifth of the AEW audience and hovering around the Mendoza line on the viewership ratings, if that’s a success to you, and you know it ain’t. Then okay, you’re welcome. But it ain’t a success. Us talking about it has not turned this into a success.”
It appears Ariel Helwani is not a believer in Dana White pushing narratives about Power Slap being a success. Helwani makes a good argument on Power Slap not being successful with losing a fifth of AEW viewership when they air. Recently, fans accused Power Slap of faking social media engagements for their events.

Dana White and Ariel Helwani always go back and forth on their disagreeing issues. It remains to be seen if White will respond to Helwani’s statement. Dana White is currently promoting UFC 286 in London, featuring the trilogy fight between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman for the UFC Welterweight title.
Dana White reveals his “problem” with Media
Dana White has never shied away from anyone. He will take his time to fire back at anyone criticizing him. In the past, White has beefed with famed MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, comedian John Oliver and many other personalities.

Recently speaking with Outkick Media Outlet, Dana White revealed his problem with the MMA Media. White said, “You have the weakest, wimpiest people on earth trying to talk about the toughest, baddest sports on earth and…therein lies the problem.”
Dana White and the media members will not share any memorable moments soon. White and his team are in the process of making a documentary about the biased media’s attack on him and the UFC.
