Shields is known for his grappling and submission skills. The fighter has amassed a record of 31 wins and nine losses in his professional UFC career. He has emerged victorious against powerful contenders like Tyron Woodley and Demian Maia.

Another thing the fighter is known for is his anti-trans tirade on Twitter. Jake Shields is often seen going on hateful rants about people who are transgender and their advocates. On his Twitter, the former fighter covers topics that involve anti-trans movements. Since his retirement, the 44-year-old fighter attacks underrepresented groups, such as people who are trans, and hits all the conservative talking points.

Recently, a transgender wrestler challenged Jake Shields to a fight in the octagon. The call-out was prompted as Shields claimed he would beat ten transgender men in a row. This statement angered the community hence the fight offer from the wrestler. Upon reading an article based on it, the 44-year-old accepted the challenge. He tweeted, “My offer is legit so have they/them contact me and they can start putting their team together.”

Below his tweet, Jake Shields also said this, “Bud Light just contacted me and offered to sponsor all the trans athletes.” This was in reference to Budweiser’s support of trans people which made conservatives angry. Shields, clearly being part of the reactionary group, had his own thoughts on it.

Controversial personality Jake Shields is a retired fighter who is now part of the reactionary. The 44-year-old is often witnessed tweeting anti-trans propaganda and Covid-19 misinformation. Due to his transphobic tweets, a trans-man made headlines after he challenged Shields to a fight in the octagon. The middle-aged retired fighter accepted the fight offer and asked the trans-man to negotiate the terms.

Fans of the fighter were thrilled upon seeing the tweet. Since Jake’s demography consists of right-wing propagandists, the replies were filled with anti-trans messages. One fan went on to tweet, “Be careful mate, they might come in & identify as the winner & you can’t argue back.” Since Shields’ tweet had gone viral, there were several transphobic replies underneath it.

A lot of pro-trans advocates had called out Jake Shields. Since his retirement, this is the path the 44-year-old has chosen. Multiple conservative personalities like Tucker Carlson and Elon Musk can be seen liking his tweets. It is not clear whether or not the fight is official. However, both parties are eager to fight each other.
