This was evident due to the recent video of a certain UFC fighter on a soccer field going viral. The fighter in question is the current UFC welterweight champion, Leon Edwards. Coming off of a magnificent head-kick victory against Kamaru Usman, it seems like ‘Rocky’ had been spending time on the soccer field.
In the now-viral video, Leon Edwards scored a beautiful penalty against Uriah Hall, who was between the posts. A cheerful welterweight fighter was witnessed to possess skills on the soccer field. Hailing from the United Kingdom, soccer’s influence on ‘Rocky’ is undoubted. As it is part of their culture, the 31-year-old fighter embraces it in a recent video.

The UFC 286 event was magnificent. Headlining the fight was Leon Edwards going against Kamaru Usman in a trilogy fight. Although the fight was combative, ‘Rocky’ delivered a brutal head kick that knocked down ‘The Nigerian Nightmare.’ Following the fight, rumors of a potential bout against Colby Covington were in talks. Despite ‘Chaos’ long break from the octagon, Dana White confirmed the fight to be in negotiations.
“I don’t know how that makes sense,” said Leon Edwards about the Colby Covington match-up in the post-fight press conference. “He hasn’t fought for over a year and a half, sat out, not injured. I don’t get how he slides in for the welterweight shot when there are other guys in the division that’s been active, been fighting, and didn’t sit out. Like I said, I’m the king now. I’ve earned my way. So, I feel like I should decide who’s next,” said Leon Edwards.
Leon Edwards was not thrilled about the potential match-up against Colby Covington. His previous fight against arch nemesis Jorge Masvidal was a success for ‘Chaos.’ However, due to his year-long break, fans alongside ‘Rocky’ disapprove of the bout. Edwards is set to fight other tough contenders in the welterweight division following his head kick victory.
