2-division GLORY kickboxing and UFC champ, Alex Pereira is infamous for his stern and stoic demeanor. However, there are a select few times that see the light heavyweight in a jovial setting. Like his surprising collab with internet sensation Hasbulla for the Alpha Fight Series ‘Australia vs. the World’ fight card. Or his odd grappling with UFC strawweight, Polyana Viana in bizarre kitchen Jiu-jitsu. Most of all though, Glover Lucas Teixeira is the one he is at ease with.

With a 33-9-0 stat, the 205lbs veteran announced his Octagon retirement at UFC 283. Glover Teixeira is Alexa Pereira’s current cornerman and a dear acquaintance. A new video from spectator Laureano Staropoli‘s IG account has gone viral. It sees the duo enact their rendition of Power Slap; more of a duck-and-slap that most have played at some point in their life. The video concurrently shows both of them missing by hilarious margins.

‘Poatan’ often engages in gags and skits with the likes of Teixeria and even Daniel Cormier. A recent one saw the fighter and Glover Teixeira spar in the middle of the road at Norwalk’s Jonesly MMA Academy. Thus amusing fans on the discourse. Pereira habitually takes netizens and peers by storm sometimes. His recent viral gym sparring session had even garnered stunning commendations from 265lbs G.O.A.T Jon Jones.

A prime reaction by UK/Irish coverage site UFC on TNT Sports (@ufcontnt) on X read – “We swear @gloverteixeira is the only man who can make @AlexPereiraUFC smile.” A sentiment that fight fans have thoroughly echoed. The brainchild of UFC’s top brass and taskmaster Dana White – Power Slap is the world’s premier slap-fighting organization, that the Nevada State Athletic Commission monitors. Under its sanctions, the controversial Power Slap League’s viewership eclipses even major live entertainment events.

White had previously asserted the premier combat striking event surpassing the top 10 world sports in viewership and sponsored content. However, there is no denying that it most often gets trolled or ignorantly neglected, in the shadows of UFC and TUF.

But fret not, as Alexa Pereira and Glover Teixeira have their own spin on it. The duo recently engaged in a playful light-hearted slap-contest. Pereira’s Argentinian middleweight peer Laureano Staropoli was also present. He filmed the matter, posting it on social media. Here’s how fans have reacted to the footage –

Light heavyweight champ, Alex Pereira’s effective striking and knockdown power is something every fan is well aware of. He often goes viral with his technical blink-and-miss punches, boasting immense power. Alongside, he also happens to be a 1-0 cruiserweight amateur boxer, with a TKO win with Marcelo de Souza Cruz. This accordingly contributes to his striking power.
