Will Smith won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance as Richard Williams in the biopic King Richard at the 94th Academy Awards. However, he also slapped Chris Rock on stage after Rock made comments about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. The incident, called Slapgate, made the Academy ban Smith for a decade at the Academy Awards.

Recently, two girls engaged in a street fight. Funnily enough, it had elements of the Will Smith – Chris Rock spat. The fight happened mainly due to the comments one of the girls made behind the other’s back. One of the girls wore pants whilst the other wore shorts. The girl who wore pants quickly punched the girl in shorts after the verbal taunts escalated. This her angry for payback.

She went to hit back but the other girl in pants grabbed her by the hair and rained punches. Unfortunately, she fell and sat on her back. The girl in pants opportunistically landed some shots and the fight ended. Before the fight began, one of the girls said “Keep my name out of your mouth.” It is similar to what Will Smith said to Rock after he slapped Rock. Smith had said, “Keep my wife’s name out of your mouth”.

Some of the UFC fighters employ slaps in their fights. Nate Diaz and Nick Diaz purposely slap their opponents in their fights. The brothers call it the ‘Stockton Slap’. Diaz famously employed his use of slaps against Conor McGregor and Leon Edwards. Moreover, UFC CEO Dana White even owns a Slap Fighting League which he stated makes more money than the PFL.

MMA Netizens react to the street fight of ladies

The video of the street fight between ladies did not go unnoticed on social media. It spread like wildfire. It already got close to 100K views. The main reason for the popularity of the video was the striking similarity between the dialogue of one girl to that of Will Smith after he slapped Chris Rock.

Even though the video did have fun elements, it was indeed despicable. The two ladies hit each other’s heads with bare hands. Fighting with bare hands can cause concussion and should never have happened.
