In last year’s Oscars, the biggest moment was when superstar Will Smith went to the stage and slapped comedian host Chris Rock. It immediately became one of the most talked about topics and overshadowed everything else including, Smith winning the best actor award at the ceremony.

Rock who is a legendary stand-up comic made a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Smith and it didn’t end well as the actor took it very seriously. After that, the whole world was divided into two parts justifying and questioning Smith’s deed. It’s been one year since the incident took place and still people talk about it. Recently in one of his podcasts, Legendary boxer Mike Tyson was asked about what he would have done in that place. Tyson mentioned that he wouldn’t have made the joke about anybody’s wife and secondly nobody could have hit him.

 He said: “Well I wouldn’t be talking about his f***** wife no so he wouldn’t hit me no. I wouldn’t f**k with me, I wouldn’t say anything to me to f** with…From my experience, anybody is capable of killing you.” The legendary boxer also revealed that people should be careful as anybody has the ability to kill everybody.

Netizens call out Chris Rock for unnecessarily milking out the Oscar slap

After a year, Chirs Rock has been opening up about the slap and is clever to use it in his comedy specials and everywhere. Rock also got a lot of attention for his new jokes about Smith and his reaction at last year’s Oscars. 

Recently, Rock again made a similar joke with reference to businessman Paul Pelosi. However, his recent comments about Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, have sparked controversy and criticism on social media. Pelosi was recently attacked by a burglar, Rock made a joke by saying, “Paul Pelosi, the only guy who knows how I felt. Just me and you, Paul. Just me and you, babe.” 

Rock’s comment referencing Pelosi’s recent burglary has been interpreted by some as insensitive and inappropriate, particularly given the traumatic experience that Pelosi and his family may have endured. After this comment, people on Twitter accused Rock of overusing the Oscar joke for getting more and more attention.
