UFC 284 main event fight between Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski made fans go wild after 5 rounds of war. UFC commentator Joe Rogan reacted to the fight live on his popular podcast.

Joe Rogan did not travel all the way to the land down under to watch Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski put on one of the best performances of the year. However, the commentator made sure to do a watch party with the popular guests of his podcasts.

The Dagestani had never been tested in his UFC career and Volkanovski went against all odds and put on a fantastic show. However, the featherweight fell short in his conquest of the second belt by losing the fight via unanimous decision. Alike many fans of the featherweight online, Joe Rogan and his friends, too were confident Volk won the fight.

The judges scored the contest, 48-47, 48-47, and 49-46in favor of the reigning lightweight king. Rogan and his friends sighed in sync when Bruce Buffer uttered, “AND STILL”. Brendan Schaub, former heavyweight said, “He got f***ing robbed.” Rogan resonating with his friends’ reaction said, “Oh My God! We were convinced.”

Joe Rogan tracks back on initial reaction on possible counts of bias

The unanimous decision result favoring Makhachev did not sit very well among several fans online and Joe Rogan himself. Even in his reaction podcast, the UFC commentator admitted after letting out his initial reaction that his love for Alexander Volkanovski might have blinded him from being critical.

“We might have been biased. We might have to watch it. Let’s see what the online people think,” said Rogan on his latest Fight Companion episode. The fight sure was very close and was bound to spark several disagreements among the viewers. Rogan has previously stood corrected on several of his fight opinions.

Volkanovski took to Twitter later after rewatching the fight to claim he actually won the fight. While the Australian was not too upset about the result, he sure is down for a rematch. After UFC 284, Makhachev will move to the #1 position in Pound-for-Pound rankings dethroning Volkanovski.
