Khamzat Chimaev goes against Islam Makhachev's team
UFC 280 turned out to be a banger of an event and the fans totally got what they deserved. After an amazing fight card, the main event fight delivered a history-making fight between Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira. Makhachev won the fight and shocked the world by submitting Olivera in the second round.
As the whole Arena was soaring with cheers, a new fight was erupting on the octagon sides. Khamzat Chimaev, who was present in the arena as a spectator, reportedly got into a fight with Team Khabib. The clip has been circulating on the internet where the ‘Borz’ can be seen shouting and being held back by others. Although Makhachev and Nurmagomedov were not directly involved, surely some members of their team were. In the clip, Nurmagomedov can be seen standing in the octagon watching Chimaev shouting at team Khabib.
The whole thing was very unexpected but definitely served the fans great entertainment after an amazing event. However, it doesn’t really make any sense as Khamzat Chimaev has always been talking good about Khabib Nurmagomedov and his team.
Khamzat Chimaev talks highly of Khabib Nurmagomedov and his influence
Khamzat Chimaev recently found a lot of success in UFC after the fighter proved that he is a serious competitor for the belt. The fighter comes from the same country as Khabib Nurmagomedov and as expected both have a lot of respect for each other.
During a past interview, Chimaev revealed that he has always followed Nurmagomedov and his career and considers him a great fighter. “This guy, I looked up to him in the beginning and I still look up to him because he became a champ and he’s one of the best fighters in the world,” Chimaev said.

There were many rumors about Chimaev disliking Nurmagomedov however, the fighter made sure to clear all the facts in the interview.
He said: “People think I hate him, but I love him because he’s Muslim. I’m Muslim. It’s like the same, like he comes from some village like me, same country. Small republic like Chechnya, Dagestan, like this is still the same. I have a lot of brothers from Dagestan, and yeah, I’m Muslim, he’s Muslim – alhamdulillah.”
It was unexpected to see Chimaev after all that respect getting into a fight with Team Khabib. Maybe something happened in the heat of the moment and it will take some time to know what really happened between both parties.
