Merab Dvalishvili and best friend Aljamain Sterling were in attendance to watch the fight between Cory Sandhagen and Chito Vera. The fight was a high stake matchup as the winner had the potential to be the next contender for the title. Sandhagen comfortably won the fight by decision. Even if Merab did not fight, his interaction with a fan captured everyone’s attention.

During the event, while Merab Dvalishvili walked towards the backstage, a fan started to talk to him from the stands above. A fan told Merab to fight Aljamain Sterling in the Octagon after Sterling beats Henry Cejudo at UFC 288. Merab did not take kindly to the conversation and tried to climb the stands before being pulled by the securities.

Cory Sandhagen dominated Chito Vera for all five rounds. He will now find himself in the top 5 of the Bantamweight rankings. Sandhagen proceeded to call out Merab in a corny fashion. A victory over Merab can get him a title shot. Merab states he will unlikely fight for the title if Aljamain Sterling remains the Champion.

The Georgian fighter has responded to the call-out from Cory Sandhagen. Cory Sandhagen called out Merab for a future fight in a corny fashion, but that did not stop Merab from responding. Merab is on a nine-fight winning streak and has indicated the desire to remain an active fighter.

He responded on Twitter, “Let’s go anytime anywhere.” Merab and Sandhagen will potentially clash in the future. Sandhagen can secure a title shot with a victory over Merab.

A potential fight between Merab and Sandhagen will also depend on the result of the fight between Henry Cejudo and Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288. If Henry Cejudo wins the Bantamweight title, Merab can fight Cejudo as Sterling is no longer champion.
