In 2019, Kelvin Gastelum fought Israel Adesanya for the UFC interim middleweight championship belt. At that time, Robert Whittaker was the middleweight champion and both Gastelum and Adesanya were the next best fighters in the division. At UFC 256 in Atlanta, Georgia, both the fighters fought in the co-main event fight. 

Fans were super excited about the fight and both the fighters looked hyped as they came toward the Octagon. As Gastelum made his way to Adesanya, he was all fired up to fight and started taking off his shirt and bottoms. Accidentally, Gastelum took off his fighting shorts and was just standing there in his underwear.

That moment was funny and all the fans burst out of laughter, however, the fighter was successful in managing the situation by playing it off. Kevin immediately wore the shorts back without losing the rage face he had before the fight.

After the fight started, both Gastelum and Adesanya went all out against each other in one of the most entertaining middleweight bouts. The fight went for five grueling rounds and unlike most people expected, Gastelum put on a great performance. Adesanya back then was knocking everyone out however, he wasn’t able to finish Gastelum. After five rounds, Izzy was announced the winner via a unanimous decision.

The incident got more attention from the fight fans after the clip recently resurfaced the internet and went viral on the internet. The netizens went crazy as they saw Gastelum making such a hilarious blunder during such an important match of his professional career. After that fight, Kelvin’s professional career went extremely downhill as the fighter failed to make a significant impact on his rankings. Consequently, Gastelum lost four of his next five fights. The fighter showed his potential but was unable to keep his form at the top.
