UFC welterweight fighter Phil Rowe expressed dissatisfaction with Dana White and the UFC for not giving him the bonuses he deserved. The UFC has often been accused of mistreating their fighters when it comes to payment, and this seems to be another example.
Phil Rowe had a lot of eyes on his latest fights because he was fighting to save his mother’s life. In press conferences and other interviews, Rowe clarified that he does not care about the fight game too much. He remains focused on his mom. Unfortunately, she has developed two forms of cancer. The UFC has often been accused by many in the fight world of not being fair in their behaviors towards their fighters. Famous fighters like Demetrius Johnson and Francis Ngannou always expressed the sentiment.
The UFC has voluntarily put up Phil Rowe’s mother’s situation on the internet leading up to the fight. The fighter is upset that the organization seems to have a concern but does not proceed to pay him adequately for his efforts. Rowe even mentioned instances where other fighters received bonuses without doing as much as he did. He pointed out that knocking out three fighters in three matches is a massive achievement in MMA and deserved rewards for the effort.
Fans agreed with the fighter and empathized with his situation. They disagreed with the UFC’s supposed strategy to use Rowe’s family concerns as a promotion tactic to increase viewership. Fight fans felt that the multi-billion dollar company must pay the fighter what he deserves in his time of need.
Phil Rowe will be tested in his upcoming fight against Neil Magny

Welterweight contender Phil Rowe proved his worth in the octagon with back-to-back wins. He has an upcoming fight against another experienced fighter in the welterweight division – Neil Magny. Neil has fought many fighters in the division and is currently ranked no.11. He is known for his long reach and overall power. But all that is to be tested against an equally good fighter in Phil Rowe, who is also fighting for his mother.
13th-ranked Ian Machado Garry has also called out Neil Magny to a fight in the welterweight division. Magny believes this is just for publicity and doesn’t believe Machado actually wants to fight him.
Neil stated that he is currently focused on fighting Phil Rowe on the 24th of June. It’s safe to say that both fighters must focus on the fight and try to forget their other concerns to give their best shot.
