“If that coward had the balls” – When Colby Covington slammed “woke” NBA star LeBron James for protesting Jacob Blake’s shooting

Back in 2020, LeBron James and other NBA players were criticized by Colby Covington for skipping their playoff games. The NBA players boycotted their games as a show of support for 29-year-old African-American man Jacob Blake, who was shot 17 times by Wisconsin police.
In response to Colby Covington’s criticism of him, LeBron James made a statement. James appeared unfazed by his critics, during a press conference. He asserted that “anybody can talk from the outside.”
But Covington didn’t stop criticizing James and continued by tweeting about the result of a hypothetical battle between the two of them. He said if they got into a fight, the basketball player wouldn’t survive ten seconds
He wrote on Twitter, “LOL at the snowflakes that believe @KingJames could even last 10 seconds with me! If that coward had the balls or the ability to kick anyone’s ass, Delonte West would’ve lost his teeth long before his meth habit!”
The UFC welterweight, a vocal admirer of Donald Trump, also criticized LeBron James for remaining silent over the riots in Hong Kong. Colby Covington believed that these woke athletes are a negative influence on society.

Prior to his bout with Jorge Masvidal in UFC 272, Colby Covington made the decision to call out James during the weigh-ins. Also taking into account that Joe Rogan presided over the event who has quite a history with the right-wing community made the occasion more surreal.
Covington said, “It’s so great to have you back, Joe Rogan. We love you at the UFC, we missed you. F*** cancel culture… Before I go, I want to say a big thank you to the real heroes and celebrities in this country. Not that woke, spineless coward like LeBron James. I’m talking about our heroes, law enforcement, military, our first responders. God bless you, God bless you all. God bless America.”
Colby Covington’s beef with LeBron James never seems to end although the chances of them facing each other in a fight are very low. Covington’s comment was incredibly insulting and uncalled for since he has never really met the NBA icon in person, even though the entire outburst was just a part of the show to gain publicity.
