Jose Aldo was the reigning UFC featherweight champion in 2015 while Conor was a rising superstar. For a long time, he had his eyes on the belt, and at UFC 194, he finally secured his win. Conor is known for his precision and timing and also his left hand which slept Aldo to win him the title that night.

Conor, a brilliant marketer and entertainer – there has never been a boring fight promotion with the Irishman on the card. Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo are reportedly friends now
Aldo was the reigning undefeated featherweight champion of the UFC and Conor changed all of that in 13 seconds. Regardless of any amount of sportsmanship, you would think a man would hold a grudge when his decade-long reign is snatched away from him, and that too after all the disrespect and mind games Conor plays prior to a fight. But in a recent interview, Jose Aldo revealed that he and Conor are actually friends and hold each other in high regard.
“I do have a lot of respect for him, we are friends. We follow each other on Instagram and exchange dialogue there… I have nothing but respect for him, we have a good friendship,” Aldo said. Jose Aldo actually reclaimed his title back after defeating Frankie Edgar to become the featherweight champion again.
Conor too has spoken of Jos Aldo in many instances in high regard. Recently when Aldo was announced for the 2023 Hall of Fame induction, Conor reposted the news on Twitter and wrote, “Earned”.
