Renowned strongman champion, Eddie Hall recently engaged in a training session with UFC fighter Tom Aspinall. Tom Aspinall competes in the heavyweight division in the UFC. Aspinall ranks #4 in the UFC heavyweight rankings.
The duo had their entire MMA training session documented. One instance showed Eddie Hall submitting Tom Aspinall. However, it was more of Tom Aspinall letting Eddie Hall grab a choke on him and then tapping out than the other way around. Hall and Aspinall shared glimpses of their training on social media. Fans from both parties were pleasantly surprised by this collaboration. Their unique dynamic formed an entertaining video that Eddie Hall uploaded on his YouTube channel.
Eddie Hall dared Tom Aspinall to deliver a full-force leg kick. However, Aspinall let a 9-year-old child try to hurt the strongman first. Tom had assured him that with correct technique, the leg kick delivered by a 9-year-old would definitely be powerful. When the young boy executed the kick, it was clear from Eddie’s expression that Tom Aspinall was telling the truth. “I couldn’t imagine you doing that,” Hall said. Now it was Tom’s turn to kick the leg. He graciously handed Eddie a protective leg pad. However, even with the leg pad and Tom claiming to use only a fraction of his force, Eddie felt the effect of the kick.
The unexpected crossover between the worlds of Strongman and MMA provided an interesting piece of content for fans worldwide. Eddie Hall has been doing a series of collaboration videos with different athletes. In the comment section of the video with Tom Aspinall, Eddie wrote, “Who wants to see me and @shawstrength collide??? “.
Tom Aspinall’s potential fight against Ciryl Gane and Sergei Pavlovich
Tom Aspinall wants to get into the octagon, regardless of whether it be against Sergei Pavlovich or Ciryl Gane. Aspinall had made it clear that he wanted to tale on Gane.
However, Gane’s response after UFC Fight Night 226 was not exactly what Aspinall wanted to hear. Gane expressed his intention to wait and see the outcome of the upcoming UFC heavyweight title bout between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic in November. Aspinall however, will not wait for so long. Therefore he expressed his desire to take on Sergei Pavlovich instead. Aspinall revealed that according to him Gane was his ideal matchup.
However, Tom Aspinall was also scheduled to fight Sergei Pavlovich multiple times. However, the fight never happened. Aspinall revealed that he was happy to fight anyone that got him closer to the title. This statement leaves the door open for a number of potential opponents for Aspinall. However, the much-anticipated showdown between Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane has been pushed to the distant future for now.
