Petr Yan Shut Down Aljamain Sterling’s Steroids Accusation With a Live USADA Test

Petr Yan

Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling were supposed to fight at UFC 272, but the UFC moved the fight to UFC 273.

Aljamain Sterling took a dig at the interim champion that Yan required time for his tests to come clean. Also, Sterling accused Yan of cheating. Sterling won the title from Yan in their first match because of an illegal knee by Yan, it came when Yan was dominating the latter half of the fight and Sterling looked tired. Yan wanted the rematch immediately but Sterling had to go through neck surgery.

The rematch is on for UFC 273 and would feature probably as the co-main to Alexander Volkanovski and the Korean Zombie. To answer the cheating accusation from the champ Yan has posted a video of the USADA test on his Twitter. Yan wrote, “Anytime, anywhere.”

Petr Yan lost the belt but is still considered the champion and the best fighter in the division. He is ranked higher than the current bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling and that’s because of how the first fight ended. Yan looked impressive in the fight and Sterling surprisingly looked tired after the second round itself.

Yan has eyes set for this rematch ever since the first fight. He just outclassed a top-level fighter Cory Sandhagen in a thrilling fight. The interim champion would look to unify the title, he should have never lost. Whereas Sterling will look to shock the world after the fans and experts are ruling him out in the second match.

Sterling had given reasons for one of his worse performances coming in the biggest fight of his career. Sterling blamed the timing of the fight and the slippery mat that took his balance for some of the reasons he wasn’t able to perform to his best of potential. His win over Yan was the worst possible way to win a fight but he did get a UFC belt and potential PPV money with it.
