Shavkat Rakhmonov missed his sister’s wedding as he was in fight camp. Shavkat Rakhmonov’s sister, Sora Rakhmonova, married Nursultan Orynbassarov in her hometown. This led the MMA world to question who Shavkat Rakhmonov’s sister was and what Sora Rakhmonova’s MMA record was.
Sora Rakhmonova is the younger sister of Shavkat Rakhmonov. She was born on May 21, 1998, in Kazakhstan. Rakhmonova, like her brother, developed an interest in mixed martial arts. As such, she turned pro in 2021. While Rakhmonov had already made it to the world’s leading promotion, UFC, his sister remains knocking at its door.
Sora Rakhmonova’s MMA record
Sora Rakhmonova currently competes in the flyweight division under the Naiza Fighter Championship. It is a regional Kazakh fight promotion. She has an MMA record of four wins and one loss in the three years she has competed professionally.
Before turning pro, she competed in the IMMAF tournaments as an amateur to get the much-needed fighting experience. Being the sister of Shavkat Rakhmonov, she has shown immense courage and talent inside the octagon.

After becoming a professional, she won her debut via a triangle choke. However, she lost her next fight to debutant Veronika Borisova via unanimous decision. Since then, she has won all of her fights, including two finishes in her last two fights. Her last finish against Valeria Karygina was discussed extensively on the internet.
Will Sora Rakhmonova enter the UFC like her brother Shavkat Rakhmonov?
In mid-2023, Sora Rakhmonova made the headlines when she won a spectacular TKO win over Valeria Karygina. Soon after, she fired shots at the UFC CEO Dana White, demanding a UFC contract. As such, impressed by her performance, the UFC awarded her a spot in the Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS). She was to take on the undefeated flyweight Ernesta Kareckaite in September 2023.

A win in DWCS assured Sora Rakhmonova a UFC contract, especially with the background of being Shavkat Rakhmonov’s sister. Unfortunately, she suffered an injury and pulled out of the fight. Since she was just 25 years of age and had a whole career ahead of her, the UFC would keep an eye on her with the door open to sign her anytime.
