Greg Hardy has been unlucky with his recent matchup at UFC 270. The heavyweight is forced to pull out of his PPV fight owing to a gruesome finger injury.
On Friday, Greg Hardy announced on Instagram that he won’t be available for his booked fight. The heavyweight was supposed to fight Sergei Spivak on UFC 270 main card. The fight was scheduled for January 22 in Anaheim, California. Greg was initially scheduled to face Aleksei Oleinik but his former rival withdrew from the fight and hence Spivak had to step in.
UFC will be losing a fight from the main card of their very first pay-per-view event of UFC 270. Hardy posted on Instagram a picture of his injury and posted a note apologizing to his fans. The heavyweight was really looking forward to in the main card headlined by the much-anticipated heavyweight title unifier fight of Francis Ngannou vs Ciryl Gane.

“I wanted this one bad,” writes Greg Hardy on Instagram

“New date who dis. Lol gotta keep it light even though I’m kinda sick about it. Putting on a show on the biggest card of the year was my 2022 dream and now I gotta wait,” wrote Greg announcing his pull-out from the fight. “Sorry to all my fans and haters and to my opponent. I wanted this one bad I even took a short-notice change with no?”
“Gotta be pro about it right so back to the gym and back to the grind. KOs coming soon. Sorry but I shall return soon hopefully in a couple weeks. PS this after I snapped it back in place from when I was pouting at myself lol,” wrote Greg. It is unsure how long it will take for Hardy to return to the octagon. From his caption, the fighter must’ve snapped his finger.
Greg was looking to come back from his devastating KO loss at UFC 264. Tai Tuivasa knocked out Greg in the first round which was a huge setback for the fighter. Hardy has a record of 7-4-0 in his professional career.
