Kevin Holland shares details on Nick Diaz altercation

Kevin Holland is one of the most interesting personalities in the UFC. What happens when one interesting personality meets another like Nick Diaz? Unfortunately, things didn’t go too well for the “Trailblazer”. Kevin shares the story about his “funny” meeting the “GOAT” Diaz.

Kevin Holland has become a fan-favorite in a very quick time. The fighter has been entertaining inside and outside the octagon. The middleweight fighter is 29-years-old and signed to the UFC in 2018. Just like any other MMA fan or enthusiast, Holland too grew up watching the legend of Nick Diaz. There is no doubt that meeting someone like the Diaz brother is an amazing experience. However, Kevin would have wished his meeting could’ve gone better.

Holland is a Dana White’s Contender Series entrant. The fighter met Nick in 2018 when he was starting out. While Kevin was ecstatic to meet the legend, for some reason Nick did not like him too much and decided to have a swing at the middleweight fighter. In the recent episode of MMA Hour, Kevin shares details about what made the Stockton legend want to slap “Big Mouth”.

“I walked past him and I was like ‘what’s up OG?’ He felt some type of way and said something and then I said something back. The next thing you know, he swung at me,” said Kevin talking to Ariel Helwani. Holland might have been lucky given he did not catch any of that Stockton Slap that was thrown his way.

“I’m the type of person you take down not the type of person you slap,” said Kevin when asked if he got slapped by the MMA legend. “He was like ‘you got on my f**kin shirt’ and I’m like ‘this is not your shirt’…I was like is this sh*t really happening right now?”

Kevin said his coach had to come in and interfere before things elevated between him and Diaz. The fighter also believes Nick was not sober and must have been under the influence of alcohol. I guess there is never a boring Nick Diaz story.
