Israel Adesanya doing a Cristiano Ronaldo has been doing the rounds of late. Portugal’s ace footballer Cristiano Ronaldo was all over the news last week – not for his splendid performances, but for something which caused the shares of a massive company to plummet.

Ahead of Portugal’s Euro 2020 group stage match against Hungary, Ronaldo sidelined two Coca-Cola bottles which were placed in the center of his table during the pre-match press conference. Moving aside the two bottles, he took a water-bottle and showed it to the camera and placed it in the center.

His actions caused a significant dip in the shares of Coca-Cola beverages. And it happened in lightning-quick speed. The dip was significant enough to cause distress to a day trader.

Israel Adesanya sends the Monster Can flying

More recently, a pretty old video of Israel Adesanya doing almost the same has been doing the rounds. Following his middleweight title win over Robert Whittaker at UFC 243, Adesanya can be seen walking into the post-fight presser with swagger, and throwing a Monster Energy Can placed on the table.

He then did something similar following his fight against Paulo Costa and prior to the Jan Blachowicz fight, earlier this year. The reason why Izzy does is due to a man called Hans Molenkamp, who runs the combat sports division at Monster Energy. A combat sports athlete himself, Molenkamp is accused by many of torturing and oppressing fighters by holding their contracts hostage, if the fighters fail to do him the favors he asks.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo did it for the purpose of health awareness. Considered to be one of the fittest sportspersons in the history, Ronaldo consumes nothing artificial. And, that is exactly why he stressed upon the importance of water by placing it in the center. Like CR7, Adesanya wasn’t able to create the impact that ‘The Sultan of Stepover’ was able to create.
