UFC Vegas 27 (Co-Main Event): Carla Esparza def Yan Xiaonan via TKO and ended her undefeated UFC streak

The co-main event of UFC Vegas 27’s fight card headlined the fight between the number 3rd ranked UFC women’s strawweight fighter Yan Xiaonan (13-1-1) entering the Octagon against the former strawweight champion Carla Esparza (17-6).

This match will be playing a major in deciding the number one contender to face the newly crowned UFC women’s strawweight champion, Rose Namajunas. Xiaonan was undefeated in UFC before entering this fight and Esparza ended her undefeated streak with a win in this fight at UFC Vegas 27.

Round 1: Xiaonan came out hard and swinging. Esparza slipped in and land a big right hand followed by a takedown. Xiaonan tried to scramble but Esparza stayed heavy on her. Firm control from Esparza and Xiaonan tried to create some space but she isn’t getting out.

Esparza kept the heavy pressure and landed some heavy elbows. Xiaonan’s head burst opened and Esparza didn’t stop she kept landing the shots on her head.

Round 2: Xiaonan tried to stay more patient this time and landed a high kick but Esparza ducks in and lands a straight right. Xiaonan frames up and makes some space and Esparza is again on the top. Xiaonan stayed active on her back but Esparza didn’t let her move and she kept throwing elbows and punches. That’s it the referee stopped the fight. Esparza ended Xiaonan’s undefeated streak.
