Daniel Rodriguez beats Kevin Lee
The welterweight contest between Kevin Lee (18-6 MMA, 11-6 UFC) and Daniel Rodriguez (15-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC) marked the return of “The Motown Phenom” at the welterweight.
Round 1- Lee and Daniel went pretty even on their feet, started out the fight a little slow but the round ended on a good note for Lee. Rodriguez was popping him with the jab, and he was using the inside leg kicks to keep Lee in check, Lee then recollected himself and landed a big head kick followed up by a nice takedown. Lee finished the fight on top.
Round 2- Rodriguez came out swinging in round number 2, he cracked Lee with a big combination and he was looking good with the hands, the leg kicks were landing too but Lee landed a sneaky takedown but failed to keep Rodriguez on his back. Rodriguez got right back up and he was slick with his boxing, he was popping his jab on Lee’s face and stunned him right as the round was ending, Lee shot a takedown and hanged in there for the dear life.

Round 3- D-rod knew Lee was hurt and he came out swinging, he was chasing the finish, but Lee went in for a takedown and took Rodriguez to the ground, he tried to stay on top but Rodriguez broke free and got right back on his feet. Rodriguez then butchered Lee on the feet and finished the round strong. A great addition to the main card of UFC Vegas 35
