“I’m on a journey,” Miesha Tate reveals what makes the UFC Vegas 43 fight satisfying
Miesha Tate at UFC Vegas 43
UFC women’s bantamweight star Miesha Tate is having the best time inside the octagon since her return.
The former women’s bantamweight champion is content with her recent performances after her four-year hiatus. Miesha Tate is coming off a tough loss against Ketlen Vieira at UFC Vegas 43. “Cupcake” headlined the event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. In a recent episode of her podcast “Throwing Down with Renee and Miesha”, she talks about her high spirits despite the gutting loss.
Miesha Tate vs Ketlen Vieira got bloody and did not disappoint as the main event. The former champion lost via decision and has also been suspended for a minimum of six months due to injuries faced during the fight. The injuries don’t bother Tate though. “I’m really good. I am in a great place,” said Tate in the recent episode.
“This is so much different than the first time around. I have so much more to be grateful for. Before when I would fight my day would be the last day of my life in my mind. It was the day I died…I was obsessed with it,” said Miesha on her refound love of fighting.
Miesha Tate is at peace with her loss
Tate came back to the octagon after 5 years. Her first fight since 2016 was against Marion Reneau in July 2021. The fighter came back in style and knocked out her opponent in the third round. Despite facing a defeat against Ketlen Vieira, Tate is satisfied with her work in recent times.
“I’m enjoying the process and I’m okay. I’m at peace with this,” said Tate in her recent episode. “Physically I feel really good. My face is swollen and I got a few stitches. It is kind of cool because it is the first cut of my career. It’s cool in a morbid way.”
“You’ve got to be willing to take those risks and that’s what I did. It didn’t pay off with a victory but in my mind, I still learned a tremendous amount and I don’t have any regrets,” said Miesha. The former champion has one goal and it is to avenge her loss to Amanda Nunes from UFC 200.
