Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega were part one of the best title fights in the history of UFC. The two featherweight fighters took on each other in the main event of UFC 266 and absolutely shocked the whole world with their performance.

UFC 266 was held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The stunning pay-per-view card was headlined by the featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and contender Brian Ortega. Both the fighters had the entire arena in the edge of their seat with their ecstatic performance inside the octagon. In a recent appearance for Fox TV’s ‘main event’, the featherweight champion broke down his fight against Ortega.

Volkanovski won the fight via unanimous decision but the fight was not one sided at all. The champion almost lost his belt to Ortega when he landed a fantastic guillotine choke in the third round. Alex explains to the fans how he managed to escape from a choke that would put almost the entire UFC roster to sleep in Main event’s latest video.

“He gets me with this. This is the moment. And this is deep,” said Volkanovski breaking down his escape. “You see me failing my legs, trying to push his legs, I am trynna push his knee down, you can see my hand on his arm there trying to make some space. I’m thinking in my head of my family going, ‘what do I do? What I am doing is not really working but I need to stick to it.'”

“And here it is I’m out. And this is Ortega we are talking about. He has got me in his move. No one gets out of that,” said Volk in the video. When Alex was clearly getting the better out of Ortega for the first two rounds and everyone thought Brian was done, the title contender pulled out a submission out of his hat and surprised everyone.

“I was in Ortega’s world. Obviously I was never going to give up. But I knew he was tired,” said Volkanovski. Watch the full break down below:
