WATCH: Joe Rogan and Mark Coleman’s friendly scuffle turns scary for UFC commentator
Joe Rogan gets shoved by Mark Coleman
Joe Rogan is one of the biggest names in the world of mixed martial arts and the UFC commentator sure does have a lot of friends in the industry. Mark Coleman, a former champ in the sport once got into a friendly wrestling match with Rogan which could have gone south easily.
Joe Rogan is an icon in the UFC world and has been with the Ultimate Fighting Championship since 1997. The podcast host/comedian has a profound love for the sport of mixed martial arts and is a practicing artist. Though Rogan might be a very skilled fighter, he is no match for UFC champ Mark Coleman. Rogan found this out in the scariest way possible.
In 2016, Rogan met a very drunk Coleman backstage during a comedy show of his. The UFC commentator and Mark got into a friendly scuffle. As they both went on to wrestle each other and Rogan surprisingly took the back of Coleman. Mark turns around like Joe wasn’t giving his all to grab the fighter, and pushes the commentator who goes on to land on the wall behind him. Luckily Joe didn’t seem too hurt by it in the video.
What Mark Coleman had to say about the incident with Joe Rogan
“I gave him a hug and when a lot of times wrestlers give each other a hug it turns into something more than that,” said Coleman talking in an interview with The Hannibal TV. “He hit me with a nice slick arm drag and he took my back…all of sudden out of instincts, I had no choice but to turn around and face him. I’d say I gave him a gentle push, I could’ve given something 100 times more.”
Coleman is one of the best heavyweights in the history of the sport. He is the first-ever UFC heavyweight champion. The famous term, “ground-and-pound” was also coined by the heavyweight champ himself. Joe and Coleman are still good friends and the UFC commentator actually was one of the first people to give the heavyweight champ a shoutout when he created his Twitter account. Coleman is also a fan of Joe as a comedian and has praised him several times.
