Watch: Khamzat Chimaev executes a swift arm-bar at Tiger Muay Thai
Khamzat Chimaev
Khamzat Chimaev looks better and stronger than ever in the latest footage that has been uploaded of him sparring.
Chimaev who is currently looking to fight No. 2 ranked Gilbert Burns is training at the Tiger Muay Thai gym in Thailand getting into shape as he looks to fight on April 9th at UFC 273.
A clip was uploaded of him wrestling with Bellator lightweight fighter Kane Mousah where his impressive takedown defense and wrestling skills were on exhibition and he very cooly took control of Mousah, dropped “The Danger” to the mat, quickly caught hold of his right hand, and then flipped Britain immediately submitting him by an arm-bar.
“Borz” whose current record stands at 10-0 has been nothing but destructive since he joined the UFC back in 2020 as he has beaten his opponents either by submission or knockout with three of those wins coming within the first round.
Chimaev is a man with almost no flaws as he is excellent on the ground as he is on his feet and ever since he became a professional MMA fighter, not in one of his 10 fights has he ever been past the 2nd round.
The Russia born Swedish has won six fights by knockout and four fights by submission and now being ranked at No. 11 in the welterweight division, Chimaev is looking to fight the top brass of the 170-pound division and he’s set his sights on Gilbert Burns as he hopes to be challenging for the title by the end of the year.
Khamzat Chimaev hopes to fight Gilbert Burns very soon as both have personally agreed to fight
Khamzat Chimaev looks to be set on when he wants to return and face Gilbert Burns inside the octagon.
On Twitter, Chimaev said, “@GilbertDurinho 9 April” which is when UFC 273 will take place and the Brazilian tweeted back saying, “I’m ready! Make sure you get your visa ready! The hype will be over soon!“
Both have been pushing for the UFC to announce this fight ever since “Borz” uploaded a screenshot of their chat where both fighters agreed to fight one another with “Durinho” even taking to social media tweeting, “Make it happen @danawhite I’m all in! 5 rounds in. Let’s grappled! @KChimaev @ufc” but there has been no confirmation as of yet by the promotion.
However, in the heads of both fighters, they are already convinced they will be facing each other and have been keeping themselves in shape as they train patiently for the much-awaited date.
If in any case, the UFC fails to announce this fight then one thing is for sure, it would lead to an uproar among the fans and fighters.
