Carlos Alcaraz executed a backhand passing shot to win an unbelievable point against Jannik Sinner in the China Open final. The Spaniard is playing in his first final since the Paris Olympics, while Sinner is vying for his third consecutive title.
In a competitive first set, Sinner did well to return Alcaraz’s strong serve. After a short rally, the Italian hit to the right baseline, which caught the Spaniard scrambling. However, Alcaraz found his feet early enough to rip a backhand passing shot to earn the point. While he was delighted with the outcome, the crowd loved it even more.

Carlos Alcaraz is yet to drop a set in Beijing and is on an eight-match winning streak. His last defeat came in the second round of the US Open. He put out a wonderful performance on Tuesday (October 1) to beat Daniil Medvedev 7-5, 6-1 in just an hour and twenty minutes.
On the other hand, Jannik Sinner has dropped two sets in Beijing, where is seeking to defend his title. He won the title last year when he beat Medvedev in straight sets in the final. Sinner is currently on a 15-match win streak and won two titles last month, including the US Open.
This is the tenth meeting between Alcaraz and Sinner on the ATP Tour. The former leads their head-to-head record 5-4 and has won their last two meetings, including in the French Open semifinals. The last time Alcaraz lost to Sinner was in the semifinals of the China Open last year.
