The Milwaukee Bucks edged past the Timberwolves in their recently concluded matchup. Giannis Antetokounmpo put up monstrous numbers again to lead his side against the visiting Timberwolves. Scoring 43 points, grabbing 20 rebounds, and dishing out 5 assists, made him just the 10th player in NBA history to accomplish the feat in a single game. He became the first player since Wilt Chamberlain in 1966 to have 40-20-5 in back-to-back games.

However, the game didn’t go as smoothly for the “Greek freak” as it may appear. Giannis was seen having a heated exchange with the referee only to earn a technical foul seconds later after arguing. During the final minutes of the 2nd quarter, the Bucks’ forward was going on for a layup before coming in contact with Anthony Edwards of the Timberwolves. This is where the ref stopped the play and Giannis got into a heated exchange with the referee.

The Bucks had a four-game losing run going into Friday. This includes defeats by the Bulls, Nets, Celtics, and Cavaliers. This season, Antetokounmpo has been averaging 31.7 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game while shooting 53 percent from the field.

Along with Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic, Antetokounmpo is the third player in the past four weeks to have at least 40 points and 20 rebounds in a single game. With a record of 23-12, the Bucks are now third in the Eastern Conference.

Shannon Sharpe crowns Giannis Antetokounmpo the MVP of this season

Antetokounmpo has been trying everything in his power to inspire the Bucks to victory despite the fact that they have not been playing at their best over the past several weeks. While his Bucks teammates have struggled to score from beyond the arc, Antetokounmpo has persistently attacked defenders and has now reached the 40-point mark in four of the team’s previous six games.

At a time when the league has more top talent than it has in a very long time, Antetokounmpo is the best player in the game. Comparable to no other player in the league, encountering him is inevitable. He never stops coming at his opponents, picking out their weak points, and ruthlessly exploiting them. He subjugates his opponent and the game to his will.

Shannon Shape kept praising the two-time MVP without ceasing. The “UNDISPUTED” commentator said that while there is controversy over the top 5 NBA players right now, there isn’t even a discussion about who the best player is. Sharpe referred to the eventual Hall of Famer as the finest player and said, “Giannis has a 40-20-5 gm with 3 mins left in the 4th. We can debate who’s in the top 5, but #1 isn’t a debate anymore. It’s Giannis.”
