The Milwaukee Bucks edged past the Timberwolves in their recently concluded matchup. Giannis Antetokounmpo put up monstrous numbers again to lead his side against the visiting Timberwolves. Scoring 43 points, grabbing 20 rebounds, and dishing out 5 assists, made him just the 10th player in NBA history to accomplish the feat in a single game. He became the first player since Wilt Chamberlain in 1966 to have 40-20-5 in back-to-back games.
However, the game didn’t go as smoothly for the “Greek freak” as it may appear. Giannis was seen having a heated exchange with the referee only to earn a technical foul seconds later after arguing. During the final minutes of the 2nd quarter, the Bucks’ forward was going on for a layup before coming in contact with Anthony Edwards of the Timberwolves. This is where the ref stopped the play and Giannis got into a heated exchange with the referee.
The Bucks had a four-game losing run going into Friday. This includes defeats by the Bulls, Nets, Celtics, and Cavaliers. This season, Antetokounmpo has been averaging 31.7 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game while shooting 53 percent from the field.
Along with Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic, Antetokounmpo is the third player in the past four weeks to have at least 40 points and 20 rebounds in a single game. With a record of 23-12, the Bucks are now third in the Eastern Conference.
