Wade Barrett‘s name has caused quite the stir in the past few days. Yesterday, the former Intercontinental Champion had to chime in to quash “BS reports” regarding his WWE future. As of Saturday morning, several wrestling news aggregator accounts on X posted that Barrett’s time in the company as a main roster commentator had come to an end and that he’d be off the road moving forward.
As mentioned above, the former Nexus leader had to clear it up himself, and he didn’t hold back, calling out the lies. ‘The Cosmic King’ wrote that he usually doesn’t engage with such things, but had to do it this time around, as what had been claimed was causing hate to be spewed for people he works with in WWE.
The 2015 King of the Ring then confirmed that he’s been kindly granted a two-week vacation that was ratified in January. The Englishman also confirmed that he would resume his usual duties after returning from the time off. Those at PWInsider didn’t report that the 45-year-old was stripped of his commentary role on the main roster. But the aggregators blew it out of proportion.
I usually ignore BS reports like this, but it’s causing needless hate to be spewed towards people I work with.

WWE have kindly given me a couple of weeks off for personal time (booked nine months ago), and then I’m back to business as usual. A complete non-story. The end. https://t.co/ZPcBQatnCK
Now that the erstwhile ‘Bad News Barrett’ has set the record straight on the matter, one has to believe it’s water under the bridge now. For the time he’s out, Barrett will be replaced by Corey Graves on SmackDown alongside Michael Cole. Barrett has been calling main roster shows in WWE since October 2022 after a brief stint in NXT. It appears he’s in for a longer period.
Why was Nikki Bella upset with Wade Barrett’s recent comments about her?
A more serious story involving Wade Barrett and Nikki Bella had been making the rounds on the internet of late. The discord stemmed from the ‘Beautiful Bomber’ taking slight offense to the commentator’s assessment of her as someone from the Divas era of WWE and how she needed to prove she could hang with the current crop of female wrestlers.

These comments were made during the Clash in Paris countdown show, where, in hindsight, Barrett was just performing his duties as the heel commentator by putting Becky Lynch over in that situation. Bella discussed it on her podcast alongside her twin sister, Brie, and that didn’t sit well with Barrett, as he posted on X.
The ‘Bare Knuckle Brawler’ also disputed The Fearless One’s claims that he tried to avoid her backstage when they passed by in the hallway at Raw last week. He mentioned that he would love to have a conversation with Bella about what made her feel bad in the first place. And in some good news, they have talked it out ever since.
The retired English wrestler took to X and revealed that the two of them have cleared the air, and they are back on amicable terms once again. Barrett playfully noted that he has been let back into the Belly Army.
lol yes great news! Sorry been off X this week. Thank you Stu!!! This all has been so wild!! Sorry for not coming to you first before chatting with Brie on the pod. 🙏🏼✨🤍 Was not expecting any of this. You know how much love I have for you and loved our chat! So excited for you!… https://t.co/1k9m8oohwJ

Also, he added that the fuss was merely a difference in their respective perspectives and nothing more. The former Nexus member condemned the amount of flak that had been directed toward Bella in the past few days. He affirmed that it was completely out of line and needed to be stopped immediately. The former Divas Champion has also issued a response by publicly apologizing for not resolving the issue privately.
She seemed grateful for the chat they had, and Bella wished him the best in that time off he is about to embark on. Before Wade Barrett ended the speculation spree regarding his ouster from commentary, some trolls started pushing the narrative claiming Bella used her backstage stroke in WWE to relegate the Brit from his high-profile position beside someone like Michael Cole.
