Khabib Nurmagomedov's reaction at Bellator 273
Khabib Nurmagomedov was cornering his pupil, Islam Mamedov, against one of the best lightweight fighters in the world in Benson Henderson at Bellator 273. This was a big test for Islam Mamedov. The fight served as the co-main of the event.
It was a closely contested grappling-heavy masterpiece where Henderson got the notch and won the fight via split decision. With the victory, Henderson improves his record to 29-11. It was Mamedov’s second loss inside the MMA and he fell to 20-2-1.
Both the fighters put each other in bad situations. Mamedov had RNC sank in multiple times during the fight and was threatening submissions the whole fight. But the veteran Henderson got one of his own chokes, he got Henderson into got a pretty tight guillotine on Mamedov and his corner, and coach Khabib Nurmagomedov was concerned about his fighter.
Nurmagomedov looked worried for a moment and was not looking at the action when the guillotine appeared tight. But it filled him with joy when Mamedov escaped the choke.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is helping fighters from his region and is a social figure and role model to those fighters, just like his father was for him. Nurmagomedov retired from competing inside the octagon and now has taken the role of a coach.
Nurmagomedov has stepped aside from the fighting and vowed to never return inside the octagon. This comes as a wish from his mother, who doesn’t want the fighter to compete anymore.
Nurmagomedov has retired, but he is doing an amazing job of bringing up the young prospect from Russia not only for UFC and Bellator but even for his own promotion, Eagle FC.
