Instagram artist and professional creative director Jessie Bearden shared a new artwork reel where a portrait of Swiss maestro Roger Federer is created using tennis balls spread out on court on the lines of his facial pattern.

The video received huge reception on social media and comes immediately in the aftermath of Federer’s highly anticipated and talked about retirement from the sport at the recently concluded Laver Cup.

Bearden is a tennis fan and has previously done similar artworks (using unconventional material) for celebrities and other players such as Frances Tiafoe and Serena Williams.

When a ‘disrespectful’ tribute to Roger Federer angered fans on Twitter

Before Federer, another legend of the sport, Serena Williams retired from tennis at the US Open. She lost her third-round match to Ajla Tomljanovic in front of a packed Arthur Ashe Stadium and after losing the match, waved a final goodbye to the tennis world. Serena had announced earlier that the US Open will be the last tournament of her career and received a grand farewell too, just like Federer.

Apart from Serena and Roger, three other big names retired from the sport this year. 2009 US Open champion Juan Martin Del Potro finally decided to end his career as his injuries wouldn’t have allowed him to compete at the highest level. Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga too bid adieu to the sport while Ash Barty shockingly announced her retirement at 25 earlier this year after winning the Australian Open.

A recent graphic tweeted by Eurosport biding adieu to 5 superstars of tennis caught the eye of fans on social media and they couldn’t stop talking about it. In the photo, Serena’s image is the biggest followed by Tsonga and del Potro. At the end, very small pictures of Barty and Federer are positioned.

Fans started raising voices because stature-wise, Federer is way bigger than Barty, Del Potro, and Tsonga, and still, he gets very less space. Fans on social media questioned the graphic designer and called the graphic a ‘joke’.
