Rhea Ripley had a great day this past Monday during the debut episode of Raw on Netflix. She had a Women’s World Championship shot against her arch-nemesis, Liv Morgan, and finally won back the title she never lost. Furthermore, she also got to interact with wrestling legends like The Undertaker and The Rock.
A clip of Ripley and The Rock has been going viral on social media. The video presumably took place before the Eradicator’s match. It featured him giving a hug to the Australian while wishing her luck. The 52-year-old was followed by several cameramen recording him, as well as, Nick Khan walking behind him.
Dwayne Johnson shocked the world on the latest episode of Raw by turning babyface not even a year after his iconic run as The Final Boss. He reconciled with Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, who overcame Solo Sikoa in the same episode to become the true Tribal Chief and reclaim his Ula Fala.
Meanwhile, Ripley got her shot against Morgan and finally reclaimed her title. Following her victory, she also got revenge against Dominik Mysterio by kicking him in the nuts. As she was celebrating on the stage, she was joined by a surprise appearance by The Undertaker. The Deadman came out on his bike dressed as the American Badass.
Rhea Ripley vs Liv Morgan was originally slated for WrestleMania
WWE has put a lot of effort into making Rhea Ripley vs Liv Morgan a marquee feud. After all, this rivalry has been going on for around a year and has roots going far beyond that. According to PWInsider Elite, the promotion was looking for a grand conclusion to this feud on the huge platform of WrestleMania 41.
The report further stated that WrestleMania matches being included on the show was a testament to the importance of this show. Another match planned for the Showcase of the Immortals was also featured on the show, namely Seth Rollins vs CM Punk. The match was originally planned for WrestleMania XL, but could not take place due to injuries. The company then looked to place this match at this year’s show, but decided to prepone it.
This news breaking out was quite a shock to the internet wrestling community. Many fans were already tired of this feud going on for so long. Stretching it out for another three months would’ve been hard to bear for many. Now, Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan can both move on to other interesting feuds for the biggest show of the year.
