Legendary Jamaican sprinter, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, is all set to become the first woman to win three 100m Olympic titles in the upcoming Tokyo Games at the end of July. The ‘Pocket Rocket’ was recently crowned as the fastest woman alive with an awe-striking timing of 10.63 seconds.
After taking a short break from the track following her pregnancy in 2017, Shelly-Ann returned to the field with a vengeance taking multiple Diamond League titles and then the World Championships. The now, ‘Mommy Rocket’ is in her all-time best form and is ready to rule the sprints in Tokyo Olympics.
About her life outside of the track, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce regularly shares about her son, Zyon, on her social media but very rarely does her husband make an appearance. So, here’s taking a look at the reigning world champion’s husband, Jason Pryce.

Current world no.1, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce married her long-time boyfriend Jason Pryce in January 2011 at The Tryall Club in Hanover. The couple met in 2007 when Pryce was visiting his friend, former Jamaican sprinter Asafa Powell, during training at the University of Technology in Kingston where Shelly-Ann was a student.
“When I go to training with Asafa I used to see her,” he had told Jamaican Observer in 2012. “She was just looking a way out. She was just always training hard,” he added about the sprinting star’s efforts to rise from her humble beginnings.
Very little is known about the shy, quiet Jason Pryce despite his wife’s tremendous fame. He sometimes accompanied her to press conferences where he would sit quietly until she was through. But Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has spoken a lot about her husband’s contribution to her journey and success.
“My husband will say that my work is hard and (he knows) how everything has shaped my life,” she said at the Norman Manley International Airport in 2012, according to the Jamaican Observer. “He has been there 100 percent and I don’t know what I would ever do without him. That’s one of the reasons I feel that if you feel you have chosen the right person for you then you will know. We are self-approved. We don’t need anybody’s approval. We have the approval of God,” she added.
Jason Pryce further said that the stardom has changed nothing for them and that he was happy to be her husband. “We always close and we just always try to keep it that way and keep it professional. I’m very happy to be her husband,” he said. The beautiful pair welcomed their son, Zyon, on 7th August 2017.
