Several drivers won the Xfinity series despite their age and experience in the sport. Talent and luck play a major role in securing a win.

Once these young NASCAR drivers get a taste of the win, there is a need for more. They become hooked. Race demands their full attention. Racing is scary, yet it is one of the things that makes you feel most alive. All the senses come together as one. Several drivers entered the sport at a very young age and tasted victory. Let’s look at five of the youngest Xfinity Series winners.

1. Sammy Smith

Sammy Smith drives the No.18 Toyota Supra for Joe Gibbs Racing. He is a high school senior. Smith is the youngest driver to win in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He won the United Rentals 200 at Phoenix Raceway. Smith has been in NASCAR for two years, and this is his first win in the Xfinity Series. He won the ARCA Menards Series East championship in 2021 and 2022.

2. Ty Gibbs

Ty Gibbs made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut in 2021. He was 18 years old when he won his first Xfinity road course race. He was also the sixth driver to win in his Xfinity debut. Gibbs is the driver of car No.54 Toyota Camry. He has 11 wins and 33 top-ten finishes in this series. The 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series Champion is also the grandson of the team owner Joe Gibbs.

3. Chase Elliott

Chase Elliott made his Xfinity Series debut in 2014 when he was 18 years old. He was driving the No.9 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports. He had his first win that year at the Darlington Raceway. Since then, Elliott has come a long way and has had a successful career. He has five wins and sixty-six top-ten finishes in this series.

4. Joey Logano

Joey Logano was 18 years and 21 days old when he won his first Xfinity race in 2008, Heluva Good 200 at the Dover Motor Speedway in his Car No.20. He has an impeccable record in NASCAR. Logano holds 30 wins in this series and 143 top-ten finishes. He also holds 36 poles. At that time, in 2008, he was the youngest driver nationwide to win this series.

5. Casey Atwood

Casey Atwood was 18 years old when he won the DieHard 250 held at Milwaukee in 1999. He finished that season with two wins, five top fives, and nine top tens. Atwood was with Brewco Motorsports and drove car No.27 Castrol GTX sponsored Chevrolet team. He held the record of the youngest Xfinity winner until Joey Logano beat him.
