Rafael Nadal
Rafael Nadal has achieved a lot in his illustrious career. The southpaw stayed on top of the game for a long period of time and dominated almost everyone in the game. The Spaniard has won 20 Grand Slam titles till now is capable of adding more to his kitty.
However, Rafa has been out of form in recent times, to say the least. He did put up a decent performance at the French Open where he has dominated for a very long time, but couldn’t go any further than the semi-final where he was caught off-guard by Novak Djokovic. Since then, the southpaw has been plagued by injuries.
‘King of Clay’ Rafael Nadal set to miss the entire 2021 season

In the semi-final game at French Open, Nadal sustained a left foot injury which has prevented him from taking the court. After the French Open, Nadal was forced to withdraw from the Wimbledon, as well as from the Tokyo Olympics which left innumerable fans heartbroken.
Post that, Nadal did make a comeback on court. He participated in the Washington Open where he couldn’t go any further than the second round. The world was shocked after Nadal was thrashed by South-African tennis star Lloyd Harris. However, fans were still hopeful that Nadal will make a comeback at the US Open.
All the hopes of Nadal fans were dashed when the Spaniard released a video claiming that he would not be participating in the Cincinnati Masters, and will also miss the 2021 season completely, which eventually meant that Nadal declared him unavailable for the US Open 2021.
The main reason behind Nadal’s decision is the foot injury which hasn’t been cured yet. Nadal claimed in his video that it would not be right to make a comeback without gaining 100% fitness. Nadal fans would be praying for the star player’s quick recovery so that he can take the field yet again next year.
