Certain rivalries in professional wrestling simply resonate with viewers. When performing together, the two heavyweights, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, have collided numerous times and had a few memorable clashes.

While WWE Creative has portrayed both superstars as rivals, it appears that the athletes have a great deal of respect for each other’s in-ring work. Reigns and Brock Lesnar had several feuds for the WWE Universal Championship, which has now remained on Reigns’ shoulders for nearly 1000 days.

In almost all the matches between Roman and Brock, Roman was portrayed as babyface whereas Brock naturally became a heel. However, Reigns is now an unappealing villain, while Lesnar is an unconventional babyface. This on-screen rivalry, however, does not indicate that they are real-life rivals.

The Rivalry between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar

Roman Reigns and Brock have wrestled each other nine times in WWE, including singles matches, triple threat matches, and Fatal 4 Way Matches. They have multiple Wrestlemania matches in which they have 1-1 victories and in one match, Seth Rollins used his Money in the Bank contract to add himself and win their first match at Wrestlemania 31.

The streak of battles has upset WWE Universe, who wants to watch any other top-tier superstar compete for the WWE Championship. So far, the following matches have taken place between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns:

  • WrestleMania 31–Seth Rollins won the match after cashing in his MITB within the ongoing match between Roman and Brock.
  • Fastlane 2016–Roman Reigns speared Dean Ambrose to win a Three-way match among Roman, Brock, and Dean Ambrose.
  • SummerSlam 2017–Brock Lesnar gave his finisher F5 to Roman to win a Fatal 4-way match including Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe.
  • WrestleMania 34–Brock Lesnar dodged Roman’s spear into F5 and won the match.
  • Greatest Royal Rumble–Roman speared Brock Lesnar out of the steel cage, making Brock the winner of the match.
  • SummerSlam 2018–Roman Reigns finally won his first match against Brock after a fierce spear to the gut.
  • Crown Jewel 2021–Roman Reigns won the match after the interference of The Usos.
  • WrestleMania 38–Roman Reigns came out as the winner of the match after spearing Brock through the ring bells area.
  • SummerSlam 2022–Roman Reigns won the Last Man Standing match after burying Brock below the announcer’s table.

After years of heated rivalry, both superstars are headed different directions. Both men have produced classic matches with each other, and this rivalry will go down as one of the greatest ever in WWE’s history.
