The title throw by Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair on Smackdown was unplanned – Reports
Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair title exchange segment
WWE Friday Night Smackdown after Crown Jewel 2021 had a title exchange between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair scheduled. This was made official after the Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair was drafted to Friday Night Smackdown while the Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch was drafted to Monday Night Raw.
The segment, though, didn’t go according to the plans made by the writers. The segment saw Charlotte Flair throw the Smackdown Women’s Championship on Becky Lynch which was followed by the Man returning the favor by throwing the Smackdown Women’s Championship on the Queen.
“The original script involved Lynch grabbing and taking the title away from Charlotte Flair and bragging about being “Becky Two Belts” before Sonya Deville could intervene. Apparently, Deville would’ve ordered Lynch to hand her title to Flair. But the report suggests that Flair didn’t agree to this and was even explicitly told to stay on course,” quoted Fightful Select following the altercation.
Backstage heat over Charlotte Flair following her title exchange with Becky Lynch
After a few hours, Fightful Select again reported that following the title exchange segment between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, the Queen had a lot of heat from the crew backstage. Here’s what they reported:
“There is heat on Flair in certain circles for disrespecting Lynch and some who felt Flair took a segment that was supposed to build herself vs. Sasha Banks and instead put all the attention back on herself and Lynch when Banks was being placed in a position to be the top babyface for the Smackdown brand. There are some who felt this undermined Banks, whether that was a planned strategy or not,” claimed the report.
