Lynch and Lita
Becky Lynch has been a dominant Champion since she returned to WWE at Summerslam 2021. She marked her return with winning the Smackdown Women’s Championship – by pinning Bianca Belair in merely 26 seconds. Since then, she has always managed to retain her title some way or the other against her opponents.
Lynch currently holds the Raw Women’s Championship. In the last couple of months, she has successfully defended the title against the likes of Liv Morgan and Doudrop. But one of the biggest challengers of her career emerged in the form of WWE Hall of Famer Lita. She made her return to the company at the 2022 Royal Rumble.
Lita challenged Becky Lynch for the title at the Elimination Chamber. The fact that Big Time Becks considers Lita to be her childhood hero made the feud all the more interesting. The two Superstars collided in Saudi Arabia and delivered one of the best matches of the night – where surprisingly, bith of them came out looking strong.
The WWE Hall of Famer came really close to dethroning Lynch as the Champion, but in the end Becky Lynch managed to retain her title. But as soon as the match got over, Lynch could be seen whispering something to Lita. After all, it would’ve felt great to go head-to-head with a personality who inspired you to be in the business.
But this wasn’t all. The Raw Women’s Champion broke her Heel character and had nothing but praise for the WWE Hall of Famer. In a WWE Digital Exclusive interview, Lynch mentioned, “She still got it. She got it and look if I wanted to beat Lita, I wanted to beat the best version of Lita. And tonight, we got the best version of Lita and I beat her.” You can checkout the full video here:
Becky Lynch gears up to face Bianca Belair
As she manged to retain the Raw Women’s Championship, Big Time Becks will now be walking into Wrestlemania 38 as the Champion. She will now be putting her title on the line against her old nemesis – the EST of WWE Bianca Belair. Belair too had earned herself a spot in the title match on the same night.
The EST of WWE stepped inside the Elimination Chamber along with 5 more Superstars – Alexa Bliss, Rhea Ripley, Nikki A.S.H., Liv Morgan and Doudrop. The Superstars battled for becoming the No.1 contender for the Raw Women’s Championship. In the final moments of the match, Belair pinned Bliss to book herself a spot at the Showcase of Immortals.
