REVEALED: Why Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns ended abruptly at Wrestlemania 38?

Reigns and Lesnar

The grand feud between two of the biggest Superstars in the professional wrestling industry kicked off at Summerslam 2021. Initially, the rivalry primarily revolved around the Universal title. Lesnar had gone after the title at Crown Jewel – but failed to capture it after interferences from Paul Heyman and The Usos.

Their second collision was scheduled at Day 1 – but some last minute changes led to Brock Lesnar winning the WWE Championship instead. This set up the massive Champion vs Champion Title Unification match in the main event of Wrestlemania 38.

While the build up was intense – and involved some memorable moments, delivered by the Beast Incarnate – the match was quite pale in comparison. The initial moments of the match seemed like they were building on to something special. But the ending was lacklustre. The match ended with Roman Reigns delivering a Spear for the win.

Initially it was speculated that the abrupt ending was due to the Tribal Chief injuring himself. But the latest report from Dave Meltzer seems to suggest that there was no injury – and the quick finish was the plan all along. “That was the match. That was the match that was laid out. That’s the nature of the way they put Lesnar matches together which is boom boom boom, big move big move…it was not a bad match by any means. It was a Brock Lesnar match, no different from many others” – mentioned the report.

The Beast Incarnate

After nearly a two-month long hiatus from WWE, the Beast Incarnate returned to the company at Summerslam. After months of feuding against Roman Reigns and some side feud with Bobby Lashley – Brock Lesnar lost the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania.

It was reported that the Beast Incarnate flew back home after the event, and hence did not appear on the Raw following Mania. But WWE Universe would be elated to know that Lesnar isn’t done with his current run. He is advertised for the upcoming WWE premium event – Wrestlemania Backlash.
