“That was a little Easter egg”: The Rock teases his WWE return

The Rock

The Rock is one of the most popular global personalities. He is a former professional wrestler, actor and a businessman. He had kicked off his career as a college football player – and had even won the national Championship in 1991 at the University of Miami. In a couple of years, he followed his father, Rocky’s, footsteps and stepped inside the professional wrestling ring.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson performer for WWE, then known as WWF, for nearly a decade and is widely regarded to be one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. In 2004, he left the company to pursue a career in acting, but he remains to make sporadic appearances for the company. Today, he is among the world’s highest paid and highest grossing actors.

A couple of nights back, the People’s Champion kicked off one of the biggest nights in sports – the Super Bowl 2022. Johnson’s intro filled the fans with excitement and nostalgia as he addressed the viewers in his iconic WWE-style. “It is time for all of us here and millions around the world to bear witness to these incredible players, who will leave every ounce of sweat, guts, pride and legacy upon this field because that is what champions do. Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honour to say, finally, it is time for the Super Bowl!” – stated Johnson during a part of his speech.

While the speech was clearly based on his iconic promo style, a fan pointed out that how The Rock did not take a pause after saying “The millions” – allowing the audience to repeat. “So [The Rock] absolutely crushed his intro yesterday but when he said “millions” and didn’t pause for AND MILLIONS by the fans I shed a small tear” – read the tweet.

But the Superstar took to Twitter to respond to the fan and it might be a massive hint that Dwayne Johnson is finally returning to WWE. “brother that was a little “Easter egg” for you and the MILLIONS…Don’t worry…the MILLIONS with a *pause is coming soon…”

The Rock will most likely feud against Roman Reigns

The fans have been eagerly waiting the return of The Rock to WWE. While he has made several sporadic appearances in the last couple of years – but all of them have been one-off appearances. It is high time that Johnson returns for a longer run, just like John Cena did for Summerslam 2021.

Whenever and if, Johnson returns, he is most likely to feud against the Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Fans might be aware that both these Superstars belong to the same Samoan wrestling family. Interestingly, “family” has been an important part of the Tribal Chief’s current character. Hence, it is only fair that these two collide and give the WWE Universe the feud they demand and deserve!
