“The only thing Becky hurt at Summerslam was my feelings,” says Bianca Belair ahead of their WWE Extreme Rules match
Belair and Lynch
WWE Extreme Rules is just a little over a day away. Bianca Belair, one of the top Superstars for WWE in 2021, is scheduled to perform at the event. She began the year with a big win in the Women’s Royal Rumble match, in January, where she outlasted 29 opponents. Belair earned the opportunity to main event WWE’s biggest night of the year – Wrestlemania. She defeated Sasha Banks in the main event of Night One of Wrestlemania 37, to become the Smackdown Women’s Champion.
2021 was a blockbuster year for the EST of WWE. But her dream run came to a screeching halt at WWE Summerslam, when Becky Lynch returned. Prior to Lynch’s return, Belair was supposed to defend her Smackdown Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks. But it was later revealed that Banks wasn’t cleared to compete and Lynch stepped in to replace her.
The Man handed a massive defeat to Bianca Belair at “The Biggest Party of the Summer”. She pinned Belair in just 26 seconds to dethrone her as the Champion. Since then, Belair has been on Lynch’s heels and earned a rematch for the title at WWE Extreme Rules. Ahead of her match at Extreme Rules, Belair took to Twitter to mention that the only thing Becky Lynch hurt at Summerslam was her feelings.
A major point of discussion in this feud has been the 26-second loss that Belair had suffered at Summerslam. But from the EST of WWE’s tweet it is quite clear that Belair will be using this stat to her advantage when they battle again. Lynch is quite overconfident, and Belair knows that once they pass the 26-second mark Lynch might get defensive.
5 Championships are going to be on the line at WWE Extreme Rules
WWE Extreme Rules is one of the B-level pay-per-views for WWE. Only 6 matches are announced to be a part of the card. On the contrary, WWE’s previous PPV – Summerslam had 10 matches on the card. Out of the 6-matches, 5 of these are going to have titles on the line.
- Universal Championship Extreme Rules match – Roman Reigns vs The Demon
- Smackdown Women’s Championship match – Becky Lynch vs Bianca Belair
- Raw Women’s Championship match – Charlotte Flair vs Alexa Bliss
- Smackdown Tag Team Championship – The Usos vs The Street Profits
- United States Championship – Damian Priest vs Sheamus vs Jeff Hardy
- Liv Morgan vs Carmella
Surprisingly, Extreme Rules is a PPV that is advertised as the “one night where WWE goes Extreme Rules”. The event used to feature several stipulation matches. But this time, out of all the matches, only match has a stipulation. The Universal Championship match will have the Extreme Rules stipulation.
WWE Extreme Rules airs live on 26th September, 2021.
