Last week’s SmackDown delivered an unforgettable moment when Cody Rhodes, in a surprising turn of events, slapped The Rock during a heated segment. The WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry couldn’t help but draw comparisons to the infamous incident from Hollywood where a similar confrontation unfolded.

The World’s Strongest Man shared an edited photo from the Oscar event on Instagram and compared Rhodes’ slap with The People’s Champion to Will Smith‘s slap to Chris Rock. Seizing the moment, The Sexual Chocolate humorously compared the two incidents and playfully implied that American Nightmare’s actions were influenced by The Brahma Bull’s disrespect for his dog, hilariously saying:

Keep my dog's name out of your mouth.

The Royal Rumble winner’s dramatic blow to The Rock was not without provocation. The Great One made several personal comments to Rhodes, calling him a mistake and questioning the age gap between his siblings. However, The People’s Champion’s attempt to mock American Nightmare backfired when Rhodes’ sister took to social media to point out the huge blunder made by the Brahma Bull.

The Rock stepped up his verbal attacks on Cody Rhodes, taking to social media to mock Cody’s dog as a “goofy a** dog.” In the same video, he also aimed at Seth Rollins, calling him a “walking clown” and jokingly referring to him as Cody Rhodes’ girlfriend.

Cody Rhodes is on the verge of creating history at the WrestleMania

Cody Rhodes accepted The Rock’s challenge to a tag team match at WrestleMania on the first night. WWE is already billing this match as one of the biggest tag team matches in recent memory, which points to a potentially huge event on Night One.

In an even more exciting twist, American Nightmare will face Roman Reigns for the title on Day 2 of WrestleMania, potentially earning him another main event match. The feud between Rhodes and Reigns has been building for the past two years, with the American Nightmare on the quest to ‘Finish his story‘.

If Cody Rhodes makes it to the main event on both nights of WrestleMania, he will make history alongside the Tribal Chief as the first wrestler to accomplish this feat. This would cement their status as two of WWE’s biggest superstars by showcasing their incredible skills and drawing power.
