“Like being in WWE”: John Cena shares his experience while filming Peacemaker

John Cena is the most successful WWE Superstar in the history of the company, in terms of World Championship reigns. Holding an all-time record – Cena has won the WWE World title 16 times in his career. This is a record which he jointly holds with “Nature Boy” Ric Flair. He still has time to surpass Flair and make the record his own.
While he continues to make sporadic appearances for the company, the Leader of Cenation’s primary focus has now shifted to his Hollywood career. But he managed to take out time from his acting commitments and did return to WWE for Summerslam for a month. He feuded against the Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
But WWE wasn’t the only platform where fans got a chance to catch a glimpse of John Cena. He was also ruling the box-office last year. Cena was part of two of the biggest blockbusters of 2021. He played the role of Jakob Toretto in F9 and donned the superhero suit as Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad.
While initially John Cena believed that donning the Superhero helmet would just be a one-off thing, but that hasn’t been the case. The fans loved Cena so much that immediately a TV series on his character was greenlit. While appearing on an exclusive panel for TCA 2021, Meghan O’Keefe revealed via Twitter that Cena felt like he was working on WWE.
“John Cena says that Peacemaker mirrors his experience in the WWE, believing he’s the good guy but being greeted with jeers of “Cena sucks!” – mentioned the tweet.
John Cena’s Peacemaker has been greenlit for a second season
The first season of the first television series in the DC Extended Universe was a massive success. It was immediately renewed for a new season. While he appeared for an interview with People, he reacted to the humongous success of the first season.
“It’s a tremendous feeling. Any time you make something for the purpose of the entertainment of others, a lot of times, it’s a real tough balancing act. A lot of folks enjoy it and we got the traction we did on HBO Max and we get the audience we did, especially with social interaction, we had with Peacemaker, and that’s a really good feeling,” mentioned the Leader of Cenation.
