What is the real name of Liv Morgan?

Liv Morgan has improved a lot since her debut in the WWE. The 2022 MITB winner’s earliest memories of wrestling are when she used to wrestle with her siblings in the backyard. She regards Lita as her wrestling idol and would often copy her wrestling style and persona when she was young.

She modeled for the restaurant chain Hooters before joining the WWE. Morgan was a competitive cheerleader as well. While training at the Joe DeFranco gym, Morgan got the attention of the Stamford-based company. She signed the WWE contract in 2014 and was assigned the developmental territory, NXT.

Morgan made her first WWE televised appearance in 2015 under the NXT brand. She initially worked as an enhancement talent and briefly wrestled under the ring name Marley. Morgan has been wrestling under the ring name “Liv Morgan” since December 2015. Morgan’s real name is Gionna Jene Daddio, and she has never wrestled under her real name.

Morgan was defeated by Emma when she wrestled under the ring name Liv Morgan for the first time. She wrestled for the NXT brand until 2017 and made her main roster debut the same year. Morgan made her main roster debut on SmackDown Brand. Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan also debuted with her on the brand. The three women formed an alliance and called themselves The Riott Squad.

Over the following years, the Riott Squad would come into existence and disband, eventually splitting in 2021 when Ruby was let go by the WWE. Morgan thereafter embarked on her singles career and became the SmackDown Women’s Champion in 2022 by defeating Ronda Rousey at the MITB PLE. She cashed in her MITB contract on Rousey the same night and became the champion.

Liv Morgan revealed the origin of her WWE ring name

Back in 2022, during an appearance on Wrestling Inside the Ropes, the 2022 MITB winner spoke about the origin of her WWE ring name. She said that to create their characters, every new wrestler has to send a list of names when he arrives at the performance center. Morgan said that she thought that the WWE didn’t like any of the names she had sent.

She claimed that when she arrived at the NXT tapings one day, she was given the option of using the ring names Liv Gallows or Liv Morgan. Morgan claimed that she had always loved the name Liv and that she had chosen Liv Morgan, but she did not like the surname Morgan. However, over time, she grew to love it.

“The real background is that when you arrive to Performance Center when it’s time to create your character, you send in like a list of names, right….. And I was like…I guess I picked Liv Morgan. And I always liked the name Liv, I didn’t really like Morgan, you know, but I grew to love it. I grew to love it all and I found so many little puns to use Liv for”

Liv Morgan has four older brothers and a sister. Morgan’s mother raised all of her children as a single mother after her father’s death. She was rumored to be dating former WWE superstar Bo Dallas. Morgan is also preparing for her life after wrestling. In order to pursue a career as a real estate agent, the 2022 MITB winner enrolled in the Bob Hogue School of Real Estate in 2020. She has also shown interest in pursuing a Hollywood career and has starred as a guest actor in several TV series.
