WWE massively teases Roman Reigns vs the Rock

WWE Evil delves into the brains of WWE’s most notorious heels, attempting to uncover the reasoning behind their decision to adopt their alter ego. The eighth and final episode of the eight-part series centred on WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. At SummerSlam 2020, the Tribal Chief turned heel and has commanded the promotion since then. In this episode, WWE teased the highly anticipated dream match of Roman Reigns against the Rock.

WWE extensively foreshadowed a potential match between Reigns and his cousin, WWE legend The Rock, during the episode’s final moments. When it comes to being the greatest Samoan wrestler in history, no one can match the latter, according to TV/Radio show host Peter Rosenberg. Following these remarks, Reigns appeared in a videotape in which he expressed his desire to face The Rock. After that, broadcast journalist Evan T. Mack stated that if Reigns defeats The Rock, no one will be able to deny him the title of the greatest heel ever.

However, these are just speculations and nothing has been confirmed. Another major speculation is of Roman Reigns facing the Rock at Wrestlemania Hollywood next year. There has been a lot of talk about a prospective WrestleMania showdown between Reigns and The Rock in recent years. In a WWE ring, the two megastars have never faced each other. Moreover, it’s the Rock that himself is down to do the match. Here’s what Meltzer said:

“The situation with The Rock is exactly what you’d think. The belief is Rock wants to do it. They believe that is the probable main event but they are all very aware that there are things that can get in the way and it could not happen. The working idea is that match Roman Reigns against The Rock for Los Angeles. It is absolutely not etched in stone by any means. That’s been the idea for months and months and months.”

The Rock’s last appearance in a match was at WrestleMania 32 in 2016. He appeared for a six-second duel with Erick Rowan, which he won. Furthermore, at WrestleMania 38 this year, Roman defeated Brock Lesnar in a winner-take-all match. It would absolutely be great to witness the all-time great the Rock square off against the greatest heel of this generation Roman Reigns.
