The Royal Rumble is one week away and the WWE Universe can’t wait to predict who will be the winner and main event WrestleMania. It is probably one of the most celebrated events in wrestling history. Several top superstars try their best to win the traditional 30-men Royal Rumble match and punch their ticket for a title match against the champion of their choice.
Some superstars like Rey Mysterio, Batista, and The Undertaker made the most out of winning the Royal Rumble and won the world title on the biggest stage of them all. Some of them, unfortunately, could not finish the story like Cody Rhodes, and Shinsuke Nakamura.
While some superstars find it difficult to win the Royal Rumble even once, legends like Stone Cold Steve Austin, John Cena, and Randy Orton have won it multiple times. Following is the list of the 5 superstars who could win the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble.
1. CM Punk
The Best in the World CM Punk made his much-awaited return to the Survivor Series after nine long years. He will be making his televised in-ring return exactly ten years after his last Royal Rumble appearance. After his return, he instantly became the talk of the town and the fans expected him to achieve his dream to main event WrestleMania.
The World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins, immediately targeted Punk for returning to the company he criticized for a long time. The Second City Saint is in the prime position to win the Royal Rumble and fight with Rollins for the title at WrestleMania.
2. Cody Rhodes
The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes won the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble match and got the opportunity to finish the story. However, The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns had other ideas and retained the title due to interference from the Bloodline. Although he lost, he had one of the best years by winning the Royal Rumble and the tag team titles.
Many fans believe that Cody should finish the story and become World Champion at WrestleMania 40. However, winning the Royal Rumble for 2nd time in a row would be a difficult task to achieve, as only three superstars in history have achieved that feat.
3. Gunther
Gunther was so close to winning the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble match but was ultimately thrown out by the winner Cody Rhodes. Even though he lost the match, he proved his mettle to the fans by surviving for the longest time in a Royal Rumble match in history.
He then went on to have one of the best matches in the history of WrestleMania and retained his I.C. Title in a Triple Threat match. Gunter also became the longest reigning I.C. Champion in history and still going strong. Many fans believe he might win the Royal Rumble and challenge for the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania.
4. Drew McIntyre
The 2020 Men’s Royal Rumble winner Drew McIntyre had to live his WrestleMania moment without fans when he beat Brock Lesnar. Drew was a world champion throughout the pandemic era and won the most number of matches in 2020 and 2021.
However, he had a rough 2023, as he failed to win any title in the company and lost many important matches at big PLEs. The Scottish Warrior has a chance to prove every hater wrong by winning this Royal Rumble and finally have his WrestleMania moment in front of a sold-out crowd.
5. The Rock
The WWE Universe went wild when The Rock made his return at the Day 1 edition of Raw and name-dropped Roman Reigns. What looked to be an impossible dream match to determine who is the ultimate head of the table, was just teased.
Although there is no official announcement of The Rock entering the Royal Rumble, but there is a high possibility of The Rock winning the match and challenging Reigns at WrestleMania. The hype is real among wrestling fans to know who will be the winner of the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble.
