Yesterday, when, out of the blue, AJ Lee posted a clip of herself taking bumps in the ring for the TV series Heels, there’s no way she didn’t know it could spark her WWE return rumors. Lee, who played Elle Dorado in the series above, easily got the chokehold on her fans. However, it seems like the halcyon days are over.

Through one of her latest Instagram posts, AJ is claiming that whatever she did in that training session with CM Punk went back to retirement. As known, the drama series she was up to, Heels, ran its course for a couple of seasons. She flaunted some moves sparingly, enough for her fans to go bonkers. Even her husband, CM Punk, couldn’t hold himself back from letting his wife know that she still has it.

In his first promo back on Raw, The Best in the World gave the WWE Universe a little sneak-peek into what AJ Lee was doing. He affirmed that she’s been great, and the 36-year-old sent her regards. Unlike many others, the former Divas Champion did not receive an apt ending to her in-ring career. She had to retire from WWE back in 2015 following a series of neck injuries.

Recently, one of Lee’s biggest fans and current NXT Superstar Cora Jade had a fun little conversation with CM Punk. While Cora referred to AJ as the second Best in the World, Punk said she’s the top figure in his household.

For sure, if AJ ever decides to return, she would be a massive asset for WWE. There are a bunch of fans who want her to have that one final stretch and end her career the way she would’ve liked.

Is AJ Lee going to return to WWE in 2024?

This month, on January 27, WWE will present its annual Royal Rumble PLE. With an abundance of first-time-ever scenarios, an AJ Lee return would capsize the entire landscape.

One more thing that needs to be focused on is tonight’s Raw: Day 1 special. There are heavy rumors of a former WWE Champion making a return tonight in San Diego. As Triple H posted on X, he couldn’t confirm or deny any such claims.

However, he urged his fanbase to tune into the first WWE show of 2024. It could be anyone. Maybe it’s AJ Lee, or will it be Dave Bautista making the case for his long-overdue Hall of Fame induction?
