AJ Styles' Raw appearance was ensured by Vince McMahon

As seen on Raw this week, AJ Styles made a surprise appearance. He interrupted the championship celebration of Seth Rollins after The Visionary called out anyone from the back for a fight. However, Styles would’ve been the last person fans were expecting to show-up, given that he’s a SmackDown superstar. However, as known, WWE often finds the most bizarre of the ways to defy their own rules.

Theory says that the promotion recently underwent a hard draft and they should stick to that. However, things aren’t exactly the same behind-the-scenes than what they appear on-screen. There’s a certain power who decided to include AJ Styles in this week’s Raw tapings. And, just so anyone would’ve guessed by now, that man is none other than Vince McMahon.

PWInsider confirmed the news regarding McMahon’s last-minute tweaks to the show. Also, Styles’ inclusion led to a subtle reconfiguration of the script. But, to a good thing, the overall production of this week’s show in Albany was smooth and without major rips to the rest of the card.

Well, it appears like calling The Phenomenal One for a single-night treat was the only call Vince McMahon made this week. Worth noting, the 77-year-old has been remotely making changes on WWE’s weekly programming. Although he’s not around in-person during the shows, the executive chairman of WWE always stays in touch via remote.

As noted in the beginning, Styles responded to Rollins after the latter issued an open challenge. However, the OC leader arrived in town to show some mutual respect. They were quickly interrupted by The Judgment Day and these parties had a tense faceoff. After a period of back-and-forth drama, Styles & Rollins vs. any two members of The Judgment Day was made official to close the night.

Later on, Finn Balor and Damian Priest decided to take matters into their hands. In a chaotic main-event filled with solid in-ring action, Rollins pinned Priest after a couple of stomps. With this, AJ Styles’ Raw visit came to an end and he’ll look to start some new chapters on SmackDown, beginning this week.

Calling the shots, he can be a participant in this year’s Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. If the creative decides otherwise for the 2-time WWE Champion, he can resume his unfinished business with Grayson Waller. Two weeks ago on the blue brand, the Australian superstar insulted Styles on the SmackDown premiere of The Grayson Waller Effect.
