At the Elimination Chamber, Austin Theory defended his U.S. championship inside the steel structure against five other men. The men’s chamber match turned out to be one of the best Chamber matches in recent memory. Every competitor involved showcased their capabilities and exceptionalism inside the structure. In the end, Theory survived with his persistence and a little outside interference to retain his United States title.
During the post-Elimination Chamber press conference in Montreal, Austin Theory discussed his victory and many other aspects. Theory was also asked about John Cena and their rumoured WrestleMania match. However, he was not delighted to hear Cena’s name when he believed it was his time and he should be talked about.
Theory answered, “Why does everybody talk about John Cena?” Theory asked in response. “Why? Why don’t they talk about me? Because now they’re going to talk about me. Theory also reflected on his performance during the men’s chamber match. He said, “Because tonight I showcased my immortality inside that chamber.”
Ever since last year, Theory has been constantly referred to as the “next John Cena” of the WWE. Cena was also rumored to square off one-on-one against Theory at Summerslam last year. However, that was not the case, as the match got postponed due to a hectic schedule of John Cena. The match is currently rumored to take place at WrestleMania 39.
As per the reports, Cena is filming for his upcoming Hollywood project “Ricky Stanicky” in Melbourne, Australia, currently. He would be busy with his shooting schedule during February and March. However, fans could expect the dream match to happen as it’s still in rumored plans.
