Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson‘s electrifying return on WWE Raw Day 1 certainly generated buzz on the Road to WrestleMania. The Brahma Bull called out his cousin, Roman Reigns, hinting at a future showdown with The Tribal Chief. Instantly, fans began to speculate about the ‘dream’ match, with many believing that it would take place at Elimination Chamber. However, recent reports have suggested that there are no plans for either Roman or The Rock at the event.

After Dave Meltzer revealed that there was no indication of The Head of the Table appearing at the show, a new report has shed light on The Great One’s case. As per Ringside News, a tenured source has told the site that there are currently no plans for The Rock at Elimination Chamber. Therefore, it is unlikely that fans will see the gigantic bout at the event.

Previously, rumors circulated that Australian officials were pitching for the WWE legend to show up in Perth for the PLE. At this point, Roman vs. The Rock looks set to take place at WrestleMania 40. The Hollywood star could even appear at Royal Rumble to instigate a face-off with the Undisputed Universal Champion.

The clash between the titans was first slated for last year’s WrestleMania. In fact, The People’s Champion himself expressed how close the bout was to happening. It will be interesting to see whether the battle for the right to claim The Head of the Table occurs at the Showcase of Immortals or not.

Will The Rock vs. Roman Reigns ruin Cody Rhodes’ plan to “finish the story”?

As soon as The Rock laid out the challenge to Roman Reigns on Day 1, fans straightaway expressed their concern for Cody Rhodes‘ story. A major section of the WWE Universe claimed that the WrestleMania 39 rematch was in jeopardy due to his return. However, The American Nightmare thought differently when he addressed the situation calmly, stating that he would indeed “finish the story” despite the hurdles.

First, Cody will have to create history at the Royal Rumble. The former Intercontinental Champion will look to become the first wrestler to win back-to-back Rumble matches in the 21st century. It is undoubtedly a mammoth task for the second-generation star, as the likes of CM Punk and Gunther are favorites to win as well.

Another possible outcome could be a triple-threat match at WrestleMania. But a victory for Cody Rhodes in a singles bout would be preferred for his story to finally end. Needless to say, fans will have to keep their patience as WWE gears up for a heavily anticipated Road to WrestleMania.
