“She couldn’t take losing”; When Becky Lynch tried to provoke Sasha Banks before Summerslam 2019

Becky Lynch returned to WWE at last year’s Summerslam and confronted Bianca Belair and defeated the then Women’s champion in a matter of seconds. Becky made her return, after taking a yearlong break from wrestling due to paternity reasons. Before that she relinquished her women’s championship by awarding it to Asuka, who had won the Money in the Bank briefcase.

At 2019’s summerslam PPV, ‘The Man’ defended her title against Natalya in a “submission match”, winning the match and retaining the championship after applying her signature submission. While promoting “The Biggest party of Summer” in Canada before her match, when inquired about a potential match between her and Sasha Banks on Sky Sports, Becky Lynch had some harsh words for ‘The Boss’, who back then was on a hiatus from WWE:

“Oh yeah, if Sasha Banks could hack it and she didn’t just get her jacket, and she’s off crying like Ronda Rousey, then I would love to face her. But unfortunately, she couldn’t take losing, she lost the Tag Team Championship and she was gone.”

Becky even criticized the Boss on her social media posts:

“She was gone. Some people can’t hack losing, they can’t step up, they can’t realize that when you lose it’s just a chance to get better, it’s a chance to learn, it’s a chance to grow. Instead, she wants to talk about ‘Oh the freaking wind and the butterflies and the freaking cocoons, and I’m a rabbit that’s coming from the earth and the soil,’ and whatever else she wants to put on her little freaking social media crap. Come fight me, Sasha, if you want it!”

What is next for Becky Lynch?

On a recent RAW taping, and after her loss to Bianca Belair at Wrestlemania 2022, Becky Lynch was out to cut a promo and was interrupted by ‘The Emperess of Tomorrow’ Asuka who seemingly issued her a challenge after yelling that she is here to stop her. Duley note that Becky was the one who relinquished the Raw Women’s title to Asuka and this can be a potential storyline for the two.

The two have faced each other several times and their last encounter before Asuka’s recent return was in 2020 when they faced each other on a RAW taping in a rematch for the Raw Women’s title which Becky eventually won
